Juvenile Cases Require A Lawyer who Understands Young People are Fundamentally Different Than Adults
Do you know what to LOOK FOR in a lawyer that practices JUVENILE Law?
I am Chris Serpico, and I have more than 25 years of experience with juveniles facing criminal charges.
Crimes committed by juveniles typically fall under the jurisdiction of the juvenile court system. Though these courts have more of a focus on rehabilitation than adult courts, a juvenile criminal conviction or adjudication of juvenile delinquency can have a very negative impact on a young person's life and future.

Confinement in a juvenile detention facility is extremely stressful and disruptive. An alcohol related conviction could
result in a suspended driver's license. For those under 18 who are in college, a juvenile drug conviction can impact
eligibility for federal financial aid.
At the Law Office of Christopher J. Serpico, we believe that most young people are best resolving their behavior through means other than court intervention and the sometimes unduly harsh consequences brought on by a criminal conviction.

At the Law Office of Christopher J. Serpico, I provide experienced representation for children charged in Bucks County or southeastern Pennsylvania. Types of juvenile cases I handle include:
- Shoplifting, theft or vandalism
- Fighting, weapons possession, or sexual assault
- Underage consumption of alcohol
- Possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia
- Drunk driving
The juvenile justice system has substantially different rules, procedures and even rules of evidence than adult courts. The consequences of conviction are also different. Juvenile convictions do not result in incarceration in an adult facility for a fixed number of years.
Instead, juveniles may be confined to a juvenile rehabilitative facility for a period of time or until they are 18 (in some cases 21). In the juvenile detention home or treatment center, the young person will be expected to participate in certain treatment activities intended to help them get back on track for a productive life. Juvenile courts can also sentence young offenders to probation.
Because the juvenile courts are so different from adult criminal courts, it is essential to work with a lawyer with hands-on knowledge of juvenile practice. Attorney Christopher Serpico has more than 25 years of experience in juvenile law and criminal defense. He is able to thoroughly explain how the process works, how the juvenile courts are run, and how decisions are reached.
